THE WAR AGAINST GOD
THE WALKING-SIEGE OF PSJJARA
[1] Came the hordes of men to where the god arose
To breach the red ceiling of the dawning sky.
From it burst a light so witheringly bright,
That shaded out the sun, and blinded mankind.
[2] And in trillions they died, each ghost to cinders,
They tasted of the breath of god, which fell low
Upon them and burned them to nuclear ash.
Each footfall toward the sea, a shockwave.
[3] The dragons in whose shade they rallied, roaring
And falling desperate axes in the god's stride
Collapsed into those selfsame shadows, denamed.
Forgotten, their fearsome chimeroforms died.
[4] In frenzied millions descended, with blind blades,
To besiege the god that walked, and each mile-stride,
'Til they threw themselves to tides, and underfoot
Swallowed drowning-water until they perished.
THE EATING OF THE STARS
[1] The ocean glittering, across which forded,
The mighty cloned god, in whose blinding shadow
Chimeric gazes did blaze uranium
And crackle, embering in dying sockets.
[2] A universe unobserved trailed in its tracks,
Every godly footstep a new entropy,
'Til they numbered five, the god-king-wizards
Each a fundament, fist, and supernova.
[3] There, the eigenlord traversed the labyrinth.
The more eyes alit with worshipful glimmer,
And unkhiic things tremored out from the maze
To give akashic name to a supergod.
[4] Behind their logick-pavises did array,
The dawnmakers, with esper spears awaited
The eventide of war-making chimeras,
Who tried with swords to set their nascent sunrise.
[5] In shrieking frenzy, they fell with beard-axes,
Their akashic weapons thundering the ranks.
But fell they did, those chimeras, into dust,
By millions and more into unghostly char.
THE SUICIDE SONG
[1] In but thousands, chimeras yet harried there,
To, among the singing stones, fall deep on swords,
And with their death throes sing themselves so bloody,
That they pursue that supergod to new heavens.
[2] The dawnmakers upon a road of the slain,
And upon an adamantine ladder climbed.
While scant-few still-live chimeras trudged in pain,
Heaving up gore and godsong to the enai.
[3] First among the voices was the god made flesh,
And the five gods made kings made wizards joined it.
In fell and graven tones mankind harmonized
Somber seraphine lore-hymns, to herald them.
[4] In silence mankind suffocated, deafened
To a universe's first tectonic thought,
And that way died, yearning for the sun they set,
Beneath the red ceiling of a failing sky.
